MacBooks, laptops, consoles & data recovery — handled in-house

A MacBook that won’t power on after a spill. A gaming laptop that’s dead on arrival. A PS5 or Xbox Series X with a damaged HDMI port, or a Switch that won’t charge. Our in-house technicians repair them all at the component level — never outsourced to a third-party depot. We’ll never ask for your password in this form, and your data stays on your device — we never erase or restore anything without your approval. We treat every device like it belongs to family — because that’s how we’d want ours handled.

BEFORE YOU SHIP

Questions every mail-in customer asks

Most diagnostics take 2–5 business days from the day your device arrives. If the repair is straightforward, it’s often completed within that same window. If parts need to be ordered, we’ll notify you first with the estimated arrival time before proceeding, so you always know what to expect. As a general rule, plan on about a week from the day we receive your device to completed repair — plus return shipping time.

Most MacBook liquid damage repairs run $175–$350, depending on the extent of the board damage. Most game console and Windows laptop repairs start at $125. If the repair uncovers additional needs — say we revive the board, then find the keyboard or battery also needs replacing — we’ll contact you with an updated quote before doing any further work. You always approve the price before we proceed.

In most cases, yes — your data stays right where it is. Because we repair boards at the component level instead of replacing them, saving your board usually means saving your data. If your storage is soldered directly to the board, data recovery depends on the extent of the damage — we’ll let you know what we find during diagnosis. And we never erase or restore a device without your approval. If you can back up beforehand, it’s always a smart extra precaution.

Wrap it well — bubble wrap or similar padding on all sides, in a sturdy box, shipped with a reliable courier (UPS, USPS, or FedEx — we’re an authorized UPS Access Point). We’ve received MacBooks shipped loose in an empty box, and that ride from city to city can cause more damage than the original problem. For most devices, you don’t need to include your charger unless you’d like us to test it too — a faulty charger is sometimes the cause of board damage in the first place. For gaming laptops, however, we do recommend shipping the charger with your device, since these often use specialized high-wattage adapters we’ll need for proper testing and repair.

In the majority of cases, there’s no charge — no fix, no fee. On the most severe board repairs, where our technician spends hours attempting a save with no guarantee the CPU or GPU survived, an attempt fee of $75 may apply. We will always contact you before starting any repair that carries an attempt fee. If you choose not to proceed, we’ll cancel the service and ship your device back at our cost.

Yes — every repair is backed by our 90-day warranty. We stand behind all of our component-level motherboard work. If a returning device turns out to need an additional part not related to the original repair (a keyboard, LCD, battery, etc.), you’d only pay the cost of that part.

Usually not — it rarely interferes with our repairs. If your specific repair requires it, we’ll let you know before we begin.
